Sweet Pea Stamps design team call

Another one of my favourite stamp brands are having a DT call! I first came across Sweet Pea stamps a few years ago. 'Arden' was my first ever character stamp, and my motivation for starting to colour with Copic markers.

Here is my entry for the DT call. Unfortunately, I don't know this little sweetie's name, as she doesn't have her package anymore, however I do know she is a Ching Chou Kuik image.

I thought she would be perfect for my Christmas cards! There's nothing like getting an early start ;)

Here is the link to the Sweet Pea blog for the DT call.

Wish me luck! :)

Polly! Guest design

Hi, thanks for stopping by. I have been sitting on some exciting news for about a month now; I was approached by Ruth from Polly! Scrap kits to create a few projects using the January PL kit, Raspberry Shortcake. Ruth knows I'm a card-maker, so thought it would be a great opportunity to showcase the versatility of the kits, regardless of your creative background.

Here are the two cards I made using the kit

If you pop on over to the Polly! blog you will find out all you need to know about these two cards. I had so much fun playing with this kit, and I was so thrilled to be asked to be a Guest Designer.

I hope you enjoy what is left of your weekend :)

Whimsy design team call

There's a design team call over at Whimsy stamps. I first came across Whimsy stamps when I was on the Lime Tart design team. I love the variety of stamps available, their versatility, and the quality, so I decided it would be a good opportunity to throw my hat into the ring, and hope for the best :) As part of the DT call, here are 3 of the projects I feel best showcase my ability.

Card 1 uses a few Whimsy stamps, plus the co-ordinating hexagon die. My first real crack at monochromatic colouring, and I was really happy with how it turned out.

Card 2 also uses a Whimsy stamp. I did a little paper-piecing here, as well as a little paper-tole on the bubbles

Card 3 is my first card using a Whimsy stamp, and my first attempt at creating a scene

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my entries for the DT, wish me luck! :)

Love

Geez, where does the time go?! I can't believe we are already into February! We have been so busy during school holidays (it is hard work keeping 3 little girls amused!!), but thankfully school is back now, and we have settled into a nice routine, which is about to be turned upside down again when uni starts in a week!

Today's card is for my cousin who is getting married next week. I knew what I wanted to make, I just couldn't get my vision on to the card. Thankfully, I found some challenge inspiration to help get the ball rolling ;)

As usual, there is great sketch inspiration over at The Sketchy Challenges, I have flipped it on it's side, and thanks to a gorgeous Sweet Pea sentiment, I was able to make it work! It's also my first time playing over at Live & Love Crafts, and a perfect chance to play with my new lace (I have inked it with DI Antique Linen). I also decided to throw my hat in the ring over at Cute Card Thursday's 'lots of love' challenge, I think my sentiment says it all really!

I was a little bit cross about how my stamped image showed up on the card. I wanted to keep it faded for a shabby chic look, but in the light, it didn't quite turn out that well. IRL, it looks great!

Supplies used are:

Bazzil, Stampin'  Up! cardstock
Graphic 45 - Le Romantique papers
Stampin'  Up! Early Espresso, and Tim Holtz DI Antique Linen
Flourishes stamp set, Sweet Pea sentiment
Pearls
Spellbinders Floral Ovals and Classic Ovals
Stampin'  Up! Scalloped edge punch
Lace

Thanks for stopping by! Here are the direct links to the challenges I am entering:

The Sketchy Challenges - Challenge 66 Karina's sketch
Live & Love Crafts - Love and Lace
Cute Card Thursday - Lots Of Love

Thanks so much for stopping by! I do have some more projects coming in the next week, so make sure you pop back in :) Have a great weekend!
